Shortage of containers at Ningbo Port of China

1. New ocean alliance
On April 1, 2017, the ocean carrier alliances are set to re-shuffle, forming three new alliances to replace today’s four. These new ocean alliances will represent 77.2% of global container capacity and 96% of all East-West trades’ container capacity.
Shipper, forwarder and container transport fleets are not acclimatized to the new vessel schedules adjusted by new ocean alliances.
2. Muslim holy month of Ramadan ahead of time
Ramadan in 2017 starts on May 27th and lasts 27days. It is earlier than previous years.

4. Shanghai Port is under jams, and some goods shunted to Ningbo Port
